The quarter

The quarter beyond the river “Arno” is the ideal place for a walk through alleys, squares and ancient artisan shops still keeping their authentic florentine character. Being so close to the ancient city walls, just one step away from the Old Bridge, Signoria Square, the Cathedral, Santa Croce, The Uffizi and all of the most striking spots in Florence, makes San Frediano the favourite quarter for florentines and their guests.

But Monte Oliveto, a small villa of the early twentieth century, is a quiet place where you can take a break from the traffic’s continuous noise and from the frenetic city life. Its fresh and bright rooms overlook a private garden bordering on a hill which gives its name to our B&B “Monte Oliveto”.

Every morning you will be welcomed by a rich and genuine breakfast, composed by cakes and dishes home made with biological ingredients. In spring and summer you will be able to enjoy excellent breakfasts in the green of our garden.

The landlady, passionate about painting and antiques, has decorated this house following her own taste and style, using natural materials and warm, cosy textiles.
